The Roots take Toronto's Panamania by Storm

August 8th, 2015  |  News

Panamania found its soul Saturday night with The Roots’ performance in Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square. Playing to one of the largest crowds seen at the festival, The Roots brought their unique blend of jazz and funk to hip hop to the big stage and brought down the house. Fans took to Twitter in praise of all things #TheRoots and #Panamania.

Panamania is a 35 day arts and culture festival that ran alongside the Pan Am and Parapan Am games in Toronto this year. Over 250 performances and exhibitions were slated to take place across the city to enhance the games. The Roots performed as part of the PANAMANIA Live @ Nathan Phillips Square, a free outdoor concert series.

Summer means festival season for Ontario residents and Panamania is only one of several festival options for the weekend travel warrior. The Stratford Festival, the Niagara Wine Festival, and Ottawa’s Blues Festival remain popular crowd-pleasers for locals and tourists alike.
