Rock Tossed Through Windshield Hospitalizes Newfoundland Teen

September 12th, 2015  |  Canadian Business

Police responded to reports of an unknown person throwing rocks into traffic on the Conception Bay South Bypass at about 8:30 pm Friday night.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the individual was standing above traffic in an area known as the Rock Cut.

A 19 year old man was hospitalized after a rock hit his windshield, shattering the glass. The driver suffered injuries after glass went into his eye and required immediate medical attention. The driver may be eligible to receive accident benefits to help him recover from his injuries.

Police stated that an older, orange-brown Jeep Wrangler was noticed in the area and that it may be linked to the incident.

The RNC is urging people to remember that these actions are not only illegal, but that it’s also very unsafe and “could cause serious injury or death”.

Anyone who may have seen anything related to the incident is asked to call the police and report it.
