A Noon Swim Cost a Man $26,000, Stolen Rolex

September 29th, 2015  |  Canadian Business

Toronto police are still looking for a Rolex that went missing from a locker over two months ago after a man went for a swim at the Eaton Chelsea Hotel.

The man reported that he arrived at the 27th floor hotel pool around 11:30 am, put his belongings into a locker, including the watch, and went for a swim.

Over the course of the hour, an individual went into the locker and removed the watch from the man’s possessions.

The Rolex Sea Dweller 1665 is worth about $26,000 and the police are asking anyone with information or who "knows of any person who has recently and inexplicably come into possession of the same type of watch" to contact investigators.

The police urge those travelling to safeguard their valuables by ensuring they are secured properly when left unattended.

Anyone with information can call 416-808-5200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
