Insurers ready to help Mississauga explosion evacuees

July 1st, 2016  |  News

Earlier this week the GTA was shocked when a house in the city of Mississauga unexpectedly exploded for reasons that still have investigators scratching their heads.

The blast killed one woman and injured at least nine others as well as causing an unknown amount of damage to surrounding properties. The neighbours in the area who have been forced to leave their homes have yet to get access to them to even assess the damage. Luckily, insurance companies are still reaching out to them to remind them that they can claim temporary housing costs as well as extra living expenses due to the explosion with their home insurance policy.

Mississauga.com reported the timeline is unclear for when residents will receive money from their insurance companies or when they would be able to begin the process of rebuilding.
