Deer Crashes Through College Residence Window

Augustana College custodial staff received an unusual call early Monday morning when a deer crashed through a residence window and was seen wandering around the lobby area.

While no drunken freshmen were found sleeping it off on the couches that morning, security footage did capture a deer trying to find her footing after slipping and sliding around the area for several seconds.

Sam Slouch, the spokesperson for Augustana College, said the animal was eventually herded out of the building before making its way off campus.  He reported that it did not appear the deer was seriously hurt by the incident.

It’s unclear how the deer came to break through the plate glass window in the first place but it’s safe to say this could be one of the more unusual insurance claims made by the college.
