Calgary Truck Stolen Twice in One Morning

November 28th, 2015  |  Auto

A Calgary man proved that thieves can strike twice in the same location when his truck was stolen twice in the same morning.

Calgary Police Service (CPS) reported that the man’s Ford F350 was first stolen early Tuesday morning by two men.

They didn’t make it very far before the snowy streets foiled their plans, only making it “a few feet” before losing control and crashing into a parked car. Both men exited the vehicle and fled the scene.

The owner found his truck damaged and still running, a broken ignition preventing him from turning off the engine.

When he went back into the house to call the police, he was forced to leave the truck idling outside.

A woman then got into the vehicle and tried to make off with it. The man saw the second attempt to steal his truck and gave chase when she spun out and got stuck in a neightbour’s driveway.

She also escaped on foot but a lady matching her description was arrested by police later the same day.

CPS stated that it is unknown whether the second suspect was connected to the first attempt or if the woman saw the truck and decided to commit a crime of opportunity.
