An Air France flight was forced to land in Halifax after receiving an anonymous bomb threat on Tuesday night.

Air France Flight 055 departed Paris and was enroute to Washington D.C. when it had to be diverted to Halifax Stanfield Airport in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Nova Scotia RCMP reported that it made an emergency landing at 10:15 pm local time and that all 262 passengers and crew have disembarked the plane.

They said that they will be searching the craft using police dogs trained to detect explosives.

Peter Spurway, spokesperson for the Halifax airport, stated that everyone on the flight was evacuated and is being taken to a “secure area in the airport terminal”.

This was only one of two flights that Air France was forced to divert after receiving a bomb threat on Tuesday night.

According to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air France flight AF065 left Los Angeles and was required to land in Salt Lake City, Utah due to another bomb threat.

FAA Spokesperson stated that the plane had landed safely and that all passengers were being bussed to the terminal.
