March Madness on the Roads Part 1: The Most Annoying Driving Habits

March 16th, 2013  |  Insurance

In part 1 of our 4 part series that examines the most annoying driving habits, we will take a look at four habits that can drive people to road rage. These are the habits that stress you out and things that you wish other drivers would not do.

  • Driving slower than the speed limit: Whether you are in a hurry or simply driving home from work, no one wants to get behind a driver that is driving slower than the speed limit. This makes some people irate. But, even though it is an annoying habit, all you can really do is take a deep breath and hope the slow driver in front of you decides to turn sooner than later.
  • Following too closely:  No one likes it when other drivers follow too closely. It gives you an uneasy feeling and the last thing that you want to happen is be required to make a sudden stop.
  • Drivers that get mad and turn on high beams: It’s common for drivers to flash their high beams at other drivers when they get mad. This is not only annoying; it is also dangerous to other drivers as it can impair their vision.
  • Drivers that don’t clean the snow off their cars: This has to be one of the most annoying driving habits and we see it all the time. Drivers that are too lazy to clean the snow off their car are both annoying and dangerous to other drivers. It is hard to see when the car in front of you has snow flying off of it.

We also want to hear from you! What do you consider to be some of the most annoying driving habits? What driving habits get under your skin?

Stay tuned for Part 2, which takes a look at annoying distracted driving habits.
