The List of 17 Things Not to Forget When Packing for Vacation

September 14th, 2014  |  Insurance

Packing is an inherent part of travelling. You need to pack your bags before you leave on your trip. Some people hate doing it, others are experts, and if you are like many of us, we always seem to forget something when packing – and its usually something important, like your bathing suit for your trip to a beach destination or, even worse, your travel plans or travel insurance coverage

While you can get by when you forget certain things, there are other things that you simply cannot afford to forget when packing:

  1. Travel insurance– You knew we were going to sneak this in here somewhere, so why not get it out of the way? Don’t forget to get yourtravel insurance coveragein order before leaving
  2. Your passport– Forget this and your trip may be over before it begins!
  3. Travel itinerary– So you know where you are going
  4. Hotel confirmation number– So you have an issue free check in
  5. Cash and credit cards– So you can pay for stuff
  6. Your kids– We have all seen Home Alone (poor Kevin)!
  7. Toothbrush and toiletries– Hygiene is important when travelling
  8. Your phone charger– Its expensive to buy a new one at the airport
  9. Your camera– To capture all the fun you are having on vacation – also to take new pictures you can post on Facebook
  10. Underwear– Make sure you have enough for the whole trip
  11. Clothing– Do you have the right clothing considering the activities you will be taking part of?
  12. Entertainment– You need something to pass the time on the plane
  13. Travel insurance– It’s so important that it needs to be listed twice. Did you getyour travel insurance policyyet?
  14. Medication– Make sure you have documentation and keep them in the original bottle
  15. Sunscreen– Its super expensive at the resort and sunburns just aren’t cool
  16. Sunglasses– So you can still look cool with your sunburn
  17. Space– Don’t fill up your suitcase too much or you won’t have room for souvenirs on the way home – Plus, if your bag is too heavy you may have to pay an additional fee at the airport

Always double check your suitcase and carry-on bag before leaving the house. Make sure you have all travel documents in order. But, even if you double check, you will probably forget something – hopefully its minor and you can do without it!
