8 Tips for Getting Through the Airport Faster

October 31st, 2013  |  Insurance

Travelling by air can be relaxing and it can be a big pain in the neck. This is why it’s important to be prepared before you leave for the airport. The truth is that much of hassle that people experience is self-inflicted and can be avoided if they had everything in order. While some issues at the airport are unavoidable, many of them can be eliminated by following these airport travel tips:

  1. Plan parking and transportation in advance: Knowing where to park before you get to the airport will save you a lot of time.
  2. Give yourself enough time: It takes time to get through all the check points at the airport.
  3. Check your flight status before you leave: Confirm and then confirm your flight time again to make sure there is no mix up.
  4. Make sure your luggage is under weight: Overweight bags cause issues, delay your stop at the baggage desk and forces cause you to pay an overage fee.
  5. Know the carry on rules: Know the carry on rules so you do not get help up at the security screening line.
  6. Get a NEXUS card: You can bypass the long security lines if you have a NEXUS card. Consider getting one.
  7. Check in online: Checking in online will save you time. It only takes a minute to print off your travel documents.
  8. Keep all travel documents in one accessible place: Keep all your travel documents in one place or you could waste time looking for them.

Do you enjoy air travel? Have you ever had issues at the airport that caused you to miss a flight? If yes, why?
