Here are some ideas for what to do in Ontario this summer.

Go camping with your friends

This is an interesting idea because there are many directions that this camping trip can take you. You can end up drinking beer by the fire, rafting through a river or hiking. It’s pretty much a choose your own adventure type of situation when you go camping. You also get to save money because you’re not paying for a cottage.

Here’s a list of recommended parks worth checking out for camping:

  • Pinery Provincial Park.
  • Algonquin Park.
  • Sandbanks Provincial Park.
  • Georgian Bay.
  • Bruce Peninsula Provincial Park.

Start looking around now and register your spot. You don’t want to lose out on this summer travel idea. A few quick searches will show you some spectacular pictures that might make it difficult to settle on one destination. But be forewarned - the weekends book up fast.

Check out the nation’s capital

Have you visited Ottawa? With this being the big 150th it’s an excellent opportunity to visit. You can also head across the bridge into Quebec for a few hours to mix things up a little.

Prince Edward County

From the vineyards to the beautiful scenery, you really owe it to yourself to check this out. This location is actually on my bucket list. I hope to make it out this summer.

Rent a cottage at Muskoka Lakes

You haven’t experienced summer in Ontario until you spent a weekend up by Muskoka.

According to this article at Narcity,There are three large lakes in Muskoka; each surrounded by a diversity of lush green trees and beautiful scenery.

Start looking for that cottage and see who’s all in for the weekend.

Wasaga Beach

You have to spend some time up here. It’s not too far from Toronto so you can make a day trip out of it. It's a beautiful, relaxed place that offers a nice break from the city without being too far.

Niagara Falls

Have you been to Niagara Falls lately? You can do wine tours and enjoy Niagara-On-The-Lake, and you can’t go wrong with a weekend by the Falls Niagara. The casinos provide some good night-life options as well.
